Allocation of the Global Fund for 2014-2016 triennal work: US$ 111 million
The Global Fund is has been financing since 2002 programmes against tuberculosis, HIV and malaria.
For the 2014-2016 allocation period, Namibia will receive US$ 111 million to fight against those diseases and to strengthen public health policy: 87.7 million will be dedicated to the fight against HIV, which affects more than 13% of the Namibian people, 18 million to combat tuberculosis and 5.5 million to pursue action plans against malaria which concerns thousands of people each year in Namibia.
As the second contributor of the Fund, France is providing financially 12% of the Fund, (approximately US$ 13 million).
