CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS - Good France/Goût de France 2020

The aim of this global project is to showcase and celebrate French gastronomy, the French lifestyle and France as a tourist destination.

The 2020 theme will focus, in the continuation of 2019, on responsible food and gastronomy, as well as the commitment of chefs to the preservation of the planet, with the spotlight on the region of Centre-Val de Loire.

Each chef is free to choose their menu according to the local market and seasonal produce, as well as the exact days on which the dinners will be served during this exciting week. The price of the menu is also at the discretion of the restaurant.

Restaurants must follow a simple rule: compile a four-course menu which promotes the full diversity of French gastronomy.
Dinner will proceed as follows :

  • Starter
  • Main course
  • Cheese
  • Desert

All preceded by an aperitif and accompanied by French wines and champagnes.

Those participating will be included in the general communication around the event, which will include the final dates for national events.

The 2020 edition will be special as it will mark the tenth anniversary of the inclusion of the "gastronomic meal of the French" in the intangible heritage of UNESCO. As the world’s leading tourist destination, France aims to welcome 100 million international visitors in 2020 and to generate 60 billion euros in tourism revenue.

Gastronomy is one of the pillars of France’s tourist attractiveness. With a third of tourists declaring that they come to France for its culinary heritage, it plays an active role in its international influence. The richness and uniqueness of our cuisine, the diversity of our terroirs, and also the inclusion of the "gastronomic meal of the French" on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, are all assets that contribute to keeping France at the top of the world’s tourist destinations.

Goût de/Good France values the excellence of this know-how and is therefore an essential tool for the promotion of France as a destination.

To take part in the event which will take place the week of 13 to 17 April, register on by proposing a menu showcasing French gastronomy.
