In their speeches, the two Ambassadors developed the theme of Reconciliation – the movie deals with 1914 Christmas Eve fraternization moments – an essential element regarding peace building and European Construction. This common initiative confirmed to our Namibian partners the strong friendship between France and Germany, united in spite of two bloody conflicts.

In the coming months, the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre will propose other movies inspired by this conflict. Furthermore, the five episode documentary series Apocalypse, la Première guerre mondiale (Apocalypse, the First world war), provided by the French Institute (Institut français) will be screened as well.
