French technology to be used in anti-poaching patrols in Namibia
Airbus Helicopters has delivered to the Namibian police a H125 rotorcraft acquired by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, to strengthen the fight against poaching in the national parks.
This rotorcraft was ordered last August and has been customized for day and night time operations and to carry animals with a cargo swing.
It is the first one of the two rotorcrafts ordered this year by the Namibian police to Airbus Helicopters. Two to three other helicopters should be delivered to Namibia for N$500M in order to assure government travel.
The Namibia Police Air Wing, which is already equipped with French rotorcrafts, has been trained several times by the French Gendarmerie.
