Good France 2016! Growing success confirmed
Namibia participated enthusiastically and with growing interest in the second edition of Taste of France - operation Good France where two French chefs were selected to showcase their talents:
Mr. Yannich Schweighardt , named best chef in Namibia 2015 - who is also the manager/chef of the restaurant "La Bonne Table " at the Franco- Namibian Cultural Centre ;
Her Excellency Jacqueline Bassa Mazzoni, Ambassador of France to Namibia and Chef Yannick Schweighardt
Mr. David Thomas, best chef in Namibia from 2011 to 2014, whom advises several restaurants in Windhoek including the "Olive Exclusive”
The menu consisted of five dishes served, at the French Residence on March 17th 2016 which was accompanied by a selective wine list. This permitted guests to enjoy the French culinary excellence in a friendly and warm atmosphere that brought together many varied guests from the political, institutional and media fields.
La Bonne Table a Franco- Namibian restaurant located at the Cultural Centre served the exact same menu as the one prepared for the residence, for a week from March 29 to April 2 , with great success.
The Good France menu was also served at a dinner hosted by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Dr Hage Geingob, in honor of the Malian President on a state visit to Namibia, on the occasion of Independence Day.
This second edition of Good France in Namibia met its expectations in its confirmed success: an increasing number of official guests at the residence, many enthusiastic diners; the rush for the special menu at the Franco- Namibian Cultural Centre restaurant; the interest shown at the highest level for the Good France operation, linked and with reference to French prestige in gastronomy; the reportage of the event in the media and Namibian social networks.
France, has been discussed and recognized very positively, through the practice of his culinary art and its etiquette, this in turn, helps strengthen the interest and attractiveness, of France for Namibia.
