H.E. Jacqueline Bassa-Mazzoni’s farewell receptions
Her mission coming to an end, H.E. Jacqueline Bassa-Mazzoni held a reception at the residence of France with her Namibian and French colleagues and friends. Among them were members of the government, the business community, the diplomatic corps, the cultural sector and civil society.
- The Ambassador, surrounded by Theo Ben Gurirab, former Prime Minister and former President of the National Assembly, and his wife Joan Guriras.
A number of guests took the floor to thank the Ambassador for her four years of commitment and perseverance, which has enabled many projects beneficial to both countries to emerge.
Therefore, Hon. Nahas Angula, former Prime minister and co-chairman of the Franco-Namibian Cultural Center’s board, as well as Hon. Peya Mushelenga, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, both welcomed the excellent diplomatic and cultural relations nurtured by our two countries.

Usuta Imbili, managing director of the Franco-Namibian company InnoSun and new vice-president of the Namibian French Business Association, thanked the Ambassador for her tireless dedication to promoting renewable energies.

Steve Galloway and Conrad Dempsey, the two heads of RMB Namibia, which supports many projects carried by the Embassy, commended the Ambassador’s efforts to combine economic diplomacy with the fight against global warming, while Hilifa Mbako, managing director of Areva Namibia and former vice-president of the French Business Club, congratulated the Ambassador on her commitment to French companies as well as to the Namibian business community.
Finally, H.E. Christian Schlaga, Ambassador of Germany to Namibia, emphasized the pleasure himself and his European colleagues have had in working with the Ambassador and thanked her on behalf of the diplomatic corps.
HE Jacqueline Bassa-Mazzoni was also welcomed at the State House by the President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr. Hage Geingob, who thanked her for her four years of service and wished her the best in her future endeavors. He also appealed to her to carry on advocating for the interests of Namibia around the world.
