The 2013 French national day in Windhoek [fr]

The Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre hosted the traditional reception given by the French Ambassador on the occasion of the national day of France. It took place on Monday, 15th of July, the 14th of July, the official national day, being a Sunday in 2013.


More than 150 people attended the function among which the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Peya MUSHELENGA (MP), Ambassador Amkongo, Chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Mr Paulinus Shilamba, Managing Director of Nampower, Mr Ian Leyenaar CEO of the First National Bank, Mr Hilifa Mbako, Managing Director of AREVA Namibia and Mr Veston Malango, CEO of the Chamber of Mines, as well as many artists and representatives from NGOs and the civil society.

Sponsors for the event included the following French companies: AREVA Namibia, Total Namibia, Aqua Services and Engineering (a subsidiary of Veolia), Colas Namibia and Bureau Veritas.
