Volunteering of a French young retiree in Namibia

Mrs Eliane Champion, former Inspector for Primary Schools for the French Ministry of Education, was on a 4-month mission in Windhoek, from March to April and from September to October 2016, to train the French teachers’ team at Sunshine Private School, as part of a mission of the French NGO AGIR.

Together, they notably worked on an innovative pedagogical approach, including learning programs of French for the whole school and teaching periods for grade 0 to grade 7.

AGIR (general association of retired employees) is a NGO certified by the French ministry of National Education and by the French ministry of Health, Youth and Sports. It enables newly retired people to devote their skills and experience to projects worldwide, providing a transfer of know-how in the fields of education, health and economic and cultural development. 48% of the missions of AGIR take place in Sub-Saharan Africa.
